A weekly outdoor market and street fair. ANC Market Social is a unique collaboration of local makers, artisans, growers, and downtown vendors curated to boost the local economy and bring together the local community.

 

Live After 5 Series

Fire Island Farmers Market
Annual community farmers market at Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop in Airport Heights! We will have a curated selection of seasonal sustainable Alaskan fish, meat, jams, pickles, AK Pasta Co. pasta, Wild Scoops ice cream, mushrooms, and even early season produce. Check it out, every Wednesday for the rest of the summer!

The Girdwood Forest Fair is a family fair that has become an annual Girdwood tradition. The Forest Fair features Alaskan artists, hand-crafted items, exotic foods and entertainers. There is no admission fee, only good times! Camping will be allowed.

Bear Paw Festival

The annual Eagle River Bear Paw Festival is a weeklong, activity-filled event with carnival rides, local vendors, live music, and a food and concessions court. A family friendly event, you won’t want to miss the Bear Paw Festival Grand Parade, Classic Car Show, Slippery Salmon Olympics, Human Foosball Tournament, Goat Yoga and much more.

 

Salmonfest
August 4-6, 2023

Salmonfest has become widely recognized both nationally and within the state as the most compelling and dynamic event in Alaska. Every year over 8,000 people turn the Kenai Peninsula village of Ninilchik into a small city as families and friends fill the region with music, food, fish and love. Over the three day weekend many of Alaska’s top food, crafts, art and brews are available throughout the grounds and a family friendly atmosphere, including a daily children’s program and science symposium, is part of the four stage extravaganza that includes over 60 acts.

August in Alaska means the return of everyone’s favorite Alaskan treat, the blueberry. One of the best ways to get outside and spend time with your family is by picking blueberries, in the Chugach Mountains, while also browsing vendor booths, enjoy live music, pie eating contests and of course, berry picking!

Eat, drink and be Greek at the 29th Annual Alaska Greek Festival! Friday, August 18 3pm – 9pm; Saturday, August 19 11am – 9pm & Sunday, August 20 11am – 5pm. Come and enjoy the best of Greek culture in Alaska! Taste traditional foods from lamb to vegan and traditional Greek pastries! Enjoy and listen to live Greek folk music. Watch and learn how to Greek dance with dance performances happening throughout the weekend.

 

Anchorage Run Fest

Alaska State Fair
August 18 – September 4, 2023
